R -v -YC – Inner London Crown Court.. YC had been charged with Possession with Intent to Supply Class A drugs namely crack cocaine and heroin. Adam Law instructed a modern slavery expert who concluded YC was a victim of modern slavery. The defence put forward was that YC had been groomed and exploited from a young age which continued into adulthood. On one occasion YC was chased and stabbed 17 times where he was hospitalised, being one of the worst cases of modern slavery. Before Trial the CPS dropped all charges.
